Ladies section

This thriving section, managed by a Committee of 12, organises a wide range of Medals, Stablefords, Foursomes and Fourballs as internal competitions, or qualifying rounds for external competitions. To enable both working and non-working Ladies to take part, most of these events take place over two days, one in the week and one at the weekend. Our popular Spring and Autumn meetings are held mid-week and Summer meetings on a Saturday. Internal match play competitions, singles, foursomes and four ball betterball take place throughout the year. The Ladies Championship, 36 holes, is on a Saturday, and a newly-introduced Seniors Championship (over 65) is over 18 holes mid-week.
We encourage rivalry by playing 14 local Clubs in friendly matches, alternating 7 at home and 7 away each year. For the lower handicap players we play scratch matches, both at home and away, against three other Clubs. At the final match of the year the winning team is awarded a golf painting.
The Ladies section also organises all the mixed competitions and friendly matches. Some are seriously competitive, other more relaxed, but all sociable and enjoyable.
We enter all the main KCLGA competitions, both as individuals and as teams, the Pearson Trophy and Mail on Sunday Golf Classic. This gives many golfers, with a wide range of handicaps, to play on new courses and meet new people. Many also enter Ladies Open Competitions, and are very successful.
Amongst our members are past Captains' of Kent, a Chairman of S.E.ELGA, two English Seniors, internationals and several winners and runners up of Kent competitions.
Finally, but most importantly, we are a very friendly section, always happy to welcome beginners and new members. During the winter we actively encourage more experienced golfers to play with less experienced through a Foursomes, American style competition and meet every Tuesday morning for 9 holes and a cup of coffee.
Come and join us and find out for yourself.
