Ashford (Kent) Golf Club

The Course

Ashford (Kent) Golf Club has a well established and mature course offering a challenge to all golfers of varying abilities. It comprises a mixture of tight tree lined fairways, water hazards not to mention a sprinkling of well placed bunkers to catch the unwary! Here are just two examples:

Hole 5

Hole 5

Affectionately known as Fagg's Folly, this par 3 hole appears to be relatively innocent until you realise it is protected by water to the front and right hand side of the green.

If you choose the left hand side of the green you will find it equally protected by 3 separate bunkers and several trees. The solution is quite simply to hit the ball straight! Depending on weather conditions, club selection has been known to vary from a sand wedge to a 7 iron.

Hole 6

Hole 6

If you escaped the water on the 5th, the good news is that the water hazard continues down the left hand side of the fairway and then across the fairway just short of the green.

As can be seen, another water hazard protects the right hand side of the fairway. More importantly, as with most of the course, a number of trees feature strongly on this hole. Lastly, beware the 3 bunkers protecting the green, which catch the unwary.
