Starting Times
Following recent reviews and amendments to the Club's 'Starting Times', the General Committee met on the 20th April 2009 to discuss recent events and to evaluate the outcome of changes, taking into consideration the views expressed by members.
Consequently, further amendments have now been made to the 'Starting Times' and are detailed below.
The main changes are to increase the time allowed for groups to tee off from each tee to 2 hours (from 7.30am onwards), and to allow 3 and 4 balls an additional 30 minute slot, prior to 2 balls commencing play.
The use of both tees has also been extended for 3 and 4 balls playing at weekends.
The Finance Sub-Committee has been tasked with investigating the issues of parity/equity with a view to a proposal being made at the 2009 Annual General Meeting.
Importantly, Members are reminded of the etiquette regarding 'Pace of Play' in the 'Rules of Golf' which state that:
"It is the group's responsibility to keep up with the group in front. If it loses a clear hole and it is delaying the group behind, it should invite the group behind to play through, irrespective of the number of players in that group. Where a group has not lost a clear hole, but it is apparent that the group behind can play faster, it should invite the faster moving group to play through. The term 'group' includes a single player”
Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
